The numbers are streaming in and they look good, real good! Retail buyers are registering for the August show, up a little over 20% compared to last year. This is great news and hopefully a sign that things are getting better out there!
Back in the not-so-long-ago days when I was a buyer I NEVER missed Surf Expo. I trusted the very best manufacturers would be in attendance with the freshy-fresh goods. Merch that would separate my store from the competition and make my regular customers stoked and, in return, they’d spread the news about how great my store was!
What’s the old saying… “If you build it they will come”? As a manufacturer, if you are exhibiting at Surf Expo you WILL be seen. Surf Expo is THE buying event for not only the east coast but for the whole boardsport and resort ‘universe’. Seriously… check the map below, spin the globe and you’ll see we have retailers coming from all over. And the numbers continue to rise every day. You want wake shops from Australia? Got ‘em, Bruce. Wind shops from Hawaii? Sure do, bruddah. Resorts from the Midwest or shops in the Nor’East… is there any doubt?
If you haven’t registered you need to get to it and lock in. Our travel staff has secured the absolute lowest hotel rates in 5 years. Are you kidding? As low as $55? The Peabody for how much?! Airfare to Orlando is pretty cheap too but I’d suggest you book sooner than later.
There’s great stuff happening this August at Surf Expo too. The 6th Annual Wake Awards will be a huge happenin’! Team Pain is ready with more skate art and pros will be on hand to demo!
