So bored ya need to mess with my computer? Please get a life!
Aloha from the ATL! This is my first blog entry of the “random” sort. Typically I talk about the upcoming show I am working on, tell you what’s coming up, what we do here at Surf Expo and add tips on how the event can best serve you. But… (c’mon you knew there was a “but” coming) I am so ticked off right now I just need to vent on a personal note.
Like many of you I have a personal laptop and a teenager at home. Recipe for disaster, right? He’s on MySpace all the time and when he’s not there he’s on YouTube looking for the “next” punk metal band to glom on to (ah yes… the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree there). Sometimes he gets on sites and stuff he’s not supposed to – c'mon... like you never have. Well… it seems that he’s gone somewhere downright sinister recently and of course he doesn’t know, or won’t admit, what site he was on that unleashed an unwarranted attack on my poor innocent home computer. At issue is some cowardly cyber-terrorist has electronically attached a couple of files that I simply can’t shake – CRAP! We’ve had trouble with viruses before, as well as the occasional Trojan Horse. Usually I run a couple of diagnostic sweepers to help get rid of the infection – Spybot, AdAware, CCleaner are my freebie standards – but these buggers are holding on tight! SmitFraudFix and CWShredder won’t even wipe them! Again… CRAP!
There’s enough pain and hatred in the world. I am not going to preach (much) here but please… please get a life. Find a nice hobby that doesn’t bother the rest of the world, huh? Volunteer at a rescue center for homeless puppies and kitties (right Sean O’?). Do something good for mankind!!!
I hope I can get my computer cleaned out by the next show (September 12th through 14th kiddies!). If not I’ll try REAL hard to be nice and happy behind the registration counter when you guys beg me to let your friends into the show without paying the $30 guest fee (better yet… don’t even try it… no matter what my mood).
Speaking of show time, don’t forget we have some great deals on local hotels! All that info can be found here.
Registration for Surf Expo is wide open too, by the by! We’ll see you in September!!!
Mahalo!!!
