I had the pleasure of being in Wrightsville Beach, N.C. over the 4th of July, and being a "local" (or at least a former local), I knew exactly where to go when relatives needed a beach umbrella to provide a little protection from the N.C. coastal sunshine.
For years Redix has been a staple of beach life in the Wrightsville Beach community, saving tourists and locals alike a trip over the bridge to purchase, well, just about anything that they needws. Screw drivers? Got 'em! Fishing rods? Well, of course. Candy? A full aisle of it? Not a problem. What about a shirt for dinner? Your choice: T-shirt or Tommy Bahama. You’ve just got to love this place.
Dee and his staff understand summer. Even better, they all understand retail. Every square foot of the store is packed with merchandise. The sidewalk in front of the store was full of beach chairs, umbrellas (ahah!), floats, sale racks, and bodyboards. Best of all Redix also had salespeople out front asking if they could help before you even entered the store! Now that’s retailing. When other large box type stores cut their sales staff to a minimum, Dee has help standing outside the store. You have to love it.
Making the most of every inch, every hour and every day is why beach retailers like Redix will always be successful and why they will always get my business.
Take a note from Dee's playbook and when your store or company comes to Surf Expo make the most of the opportunity, utilize ever minute, every vendor, or retailer. Come on, there is some business to be done.

| Good call Roy! Redix DOES have everything! How many stores can sell live bait and $500 sweaters under one roof? |
