Have you ever visited your local grocery store only to find that in a flash of briilance, the owners had updated their floor plan?

Sure you have, you go to where the cereal used to be and it has been replaced by a Hallmark Card section, and orgainc milk is no longer found with the milk that comes from less socially conscious cows. Who picked these store colors anyway, Martha Stewart?

Your frustration grows, Gatorade is not with the juice or with soft drinks! What will you do? You ask a clerk and they point you in the right direction. You proceed to the checkout and then out to your car all the while thinking, "What were they thinking! How could they mess MY store up so much?".

You come back a second time. Organic milk. I remember, it's in the organic section, right beside the cereal you buy. Gatorade? Oh yeah, it's on the isle with bottled water. Don't forget Mother's Day! Hey! The front of the Hallmark isle has flowers! You shoot, you score! Mom is covered.

I love this store, everything is arranged just the way I like it -- they even have cards and flowers. Perfect.

Change always brings out a reaction in all of us, especially when change comes to things we are somewhat comfortable with.

In an effort to help improve our registration process and update some records that were -- God bless you -- 30 years old, we have probably ruffled a few feathers in the past couple of weeks as we implemented a new online registration system.

Change comes hard, but please note that there was much thought behind the process. And much like the grocery store, you'll now be able to find our milk and cereal together!

All we ask is that you come back a couple of times and see how easy it is to update, register, print and/or change your information.

The data you give helps us to bring new brands and products to our show floor. Retailer data also helps to let the companies that you are used to seeing at Surf Expo know that you're still attending and that your business is growing. Store demopgraphics provide a blueprint for business as a whole and -- best of all -- your data is confidential. We respect your privacy.

So this season when it comes time to register for our upcoming show, please give us a couple of tries and remember you can always ask a clerk for help. Even with change at Surf Expo we still are a bit old school and don't mind bagging your groceries, much less helping you take them to the car. Give us a call if you have any problems.
