Surf Expo Staff Anticipates Solid Show

After a few nervous days carefully monitoring weather reports, the skies over Orlando are clear and this show is shaping up to be on par with Surf Expo’s largest September show ever.

“Considering the current changes in the economy since the September 2007 Surf Expo show, we’re excited to announce that we have equaled or slightly surpassed the number of exhibitors at this September show,” says Show Director Roy Turner. “This is particularly good news considering that our last September show was the largest September show in our 30-year history.”

With more than 1,700 brands offering a full spectrum of new product choices, Surf Expo presents three full days of order-writing potential. “But Surf Expo also offers a roster of educational seminars designed to increase the business acumen of retailers,” says Marketing Director Dan Darby. And all this is on top of Surf Expo’s fashion shows, demos, and special industry events like the 5th annual WakeAwards.

So the stage has been set, but who’s attending? Surf Expo has good news on this front as well. “Our buyer relations staff has worked hard to not only reach out to our existing buyer base, but we’re also happy to announce that more than 700 new buyers have pre-registered for the show,” says Turner. “We carefully watched the industry-wide trend of shops bringing fewer employees to the show, but in the last two weeks we were pleased to see that the number of pre-registered buyers has equaled our September 2007 show. Come Sunday afternoon we’re confident this, our 55th Surf Expo, will be counted among our best shows ever.”
