I’m not having the “normal” Cinco De Mayo evening. Tonight’s activities were very spontaneous. I promoter called me on the 4th and asked if he could rent my gallery for a show. Apparently a group of DJs were coming through town and they all wanted to paly together. Every other venue was either booked or did not want these guys to perform. They all were ambient sound DJs so finding a gig on this evening may have been difficult
Not having any real plans tonight other than eating some $1 tacos at the Blue Gekko, I agreed.
I had no clue how good this show was going to be. I mean really, WOW. These guys are fantastic. I am actually honored to have this show at my gallery tonight. I am not sure who everyone is but the main guy (Ben Jordan) from Chicago goes by the name, the FlashBulb. Check his page: http://www.myspace.com/bennjordan. According to his site, he will be performing at DEMF later this month.
The evening is now winding down. I had a good time, I sold 2 pieces of art by one of my continuously showing artists, Suzann Morris. I made some money from the rental, I have a slight buzz, I heard some good music, met some cool people, now it’s time to go to bed.
