How cool is this? I'm staying in another hotel for a rep show in Chicago. I step outside for breakfast and on the front of this morning's USA Today (3.10.08) is a story about Tony Hawk. 

While eating my well balanced breakfast I flip to the section for the article. His article takes up almost the entire front page of the Business section. It doesn't end there. It takes up page 2 as well. The article amazing is pretty good for the source. It lists many of Tony's business successes.  His video games, tours, roller coasters (yeah, roller coasters!), movies, clothing lines, philanthropy, and some new ventures.

Articles like this make me so happy to be in this industry. I stuck with my dream and stayed in the "Boardsports business”. My family was supportive but would have liked to see me take over one of the family businesses. Friends, neighbors, classmates always wondered when I would grow up and stop playing on my silly boards. Well our industry has grown up and we all are making a living out of our dreams. Best of all I still play on my silly boards.
