Newblood Skate Team Tour Stop
This past weekend the NewBlood skate team stopped by the gallery while they were in town filming.
I heard that the owner of the shop, Lewis Arnold, was going to be in town and would possibly stop by. When I opened the door and saw a large crew of young skaters, I was surprised. I welcomed them all in and we chilled for a while. They were all pretty tired from the eight-hour road trip and several hours of skating. So this short break was really welcomed.
Some slept, some had a few beers, and we all talked about art and skating. I think it's really cool that Lewis takes his team on trips like this. He opens their minds and shows his team sights that they may have never been able to see or experience.
Many of my fondest memories are from road trips. Which is one of the reasons I love my job -- I still get to go on road trips. After a few hours, they were off again to do some night filming and session many of the spots ATL has to offer.
