The Curse of "The Last One"
Have you noticed that most injuries occur at the end of a session?
I’ve broken my thumb when in my head I knew it was the last time I was going to drop into the half pipe.
I broke my wrist when I was bombing hills on my longboard. That wipeout happened as the sun was setting.
I broke that wrist again while taking the last run of the day snowboarding.
The broken heel? Yup, that break happened when I decided that I should really go big over the tabletop at Park City because I was leaving and it would be my "last chance" to do it.
The time I was dragged out of the water? Yeah that was after the wipeout when I decided "one more wave" and then I’ll go in.
This blog goes out to Cullen. We are all waiting at the office for the phone call with the results of his X-Ray. He was doing a photo shoot for FTK. He said they were all done filming. That’s when the lighting changed and they asked him to do the trick "one more time." That’s when he either twisted or broke his ankle.

| Thanks Doog! You just put a smile on my face, which, believe it or not, makes me so much happier than all the Vicodin I'm on at the moment. Narcotics are a poor poor substitue for friends who care. Maybe I can sell that tag line to NA or something.<br>The best way to avoid the curse of "the last one" is to never have "a last one". SKATE OR DIE DUDE!!!!<br> |

| CP--. Vicodin is a nice consolation. So is having a photo shoot of your yellow-orange-purple-blue-green leg. If it makes you feel any better, my tailbone is 13 degrees to the left because of "one more run" in my snowboarding class up at Syracuse. It hurt. Feel better soon, and no more ground roach juice!<br> |
