Technology takes the lead with new wake products
Boards In the past few years we have seen construction techniques and materials focusing on durability and flex patterns take the lead for most manufacturers. The new boards of today are required to perform behind the boat as well as at your local wake park. Sandwich construction or flex construction has seen the introduction of ABS sidewalls, complete wood cores and other exotic materials. This is producing boards now durable enough to withstand a summer of big wakes, hard landings and hitting features at cable parks all day.
Boots Wakeboarding boots were long characterized as the part of your equipment that was the least comfortable, least colorful and most difficult to get into and out of. Fortunately those are characteristics of the past and in the last few years we have seen huge advancements in wakeboarding boots. Today Velcro, laces, ratchets and the new System has changed all of this. We would dare to say wakeboarding boots are now downright comfortable, good looking and some are even easy to get in and out of.
Boats The new boats on the market represent the largest leap forward in design, style, function, power, technology and pure wake size than any other set of boat releases since the true inception of the wakeboarding boat. Every manufacturer has released at least one new prominent model and many are pushing out two this year. So what was the catalyst for a big push for new boats? Potentially everyone had been held down by the economy, regrouping and planning for this moment. R&D departments were lean but had time on their hands to conceive new boats from the water up. The results are market changing. Welcome to the new world of wakeboarding crafts.
Liquid Force is proud to introduce the next generation of pro model performance wakeboards with their new B.O.B. and B.O.B. Grind series. Bob’s board features a CNC’d all wood core encased in a thin Liquid Rail perimeter. With Liquid Rail inside the closed rail construction, you get a waterproof core and a precise rail shape for perfect edging behind the boat or anywhere. The wood core reduces the overall thickness profile, which provides you with a thinner biting rail shape, and a dynamic flex and response throughout the whole board. The new B.O.B. shapes come in three sizes, 133, 137, and 141.
JD and Scott Bouchard have gotten together to create the third installment in a very successful series. This all-new design gives JD the ability to ride at the cable or behind the boat on the same deck. Crossover Core Technology combines two advanced materials, the Webb provides flex characteristics but maintains its rocker line between the bindings allowing for great pop off the wake. The Webb features a blended 3-Stage rocker line allowing it to carry speed without sacrificing that explosive feel off the wake. Combine all of this with a full 360 degree ABS sidewall and full Sintered Enduro base and you have one of the most durable boards on the market. The Webb comes in 134cm, 140cm & 145cm.
For those looking for a more wallet friendly, do-it–all boat & cable board, the Fremont is for you. Inspired by Sean O’Brien’s pro model Paradigm flex board – O’Brien captured the essence of all that makes a good flex board - focusing on cost effective measures to make sure the price is right. Featuring the same featureless bottom and durable removable Blunt fins, the Fremont is stable for the intermediate but suitable for the pro level rider as well. Available in 128, 133, 138 and 143 lengths, there’s a board for everyone.
Built to endure Shredtown’s intense riding style, these unique high-end boots offer premium ergonomics, function and durability. Utilizing our Trifecta Velcro Strap System, the Shredtown boots feature our low-profile bottomless base system for thefinest foot-to-board feel, removable walk-in liners, and the latest in custom fit and shock-absorption technology. The same, patented heat formed custom fit found in the rest of Ronix’s high-end line. Thank Frank for pro model performance without the same price tag. Inspired by unripe bananas.
For 2013 Byerly gets the System Binding added to their range. Their new design philosophy allows us to build unmatched strength, support, and response into the binding itself without sacrificing comfort. The new System Binding features full GX3 construction making it light weight and extremely strong. The articulating highback allows for greater support and moves with a rider’s leg to ensure a full range of rear motion. Together with the Byerly System Boot, this transfers a rider’s energy directly to the board creating the most responsive ride in wakeboarding.
