Public Relations involves supplying information that is factual, interesting and newsworthy to media. PR differs from advertising in that you do not pay for space or air time. You have to earn coverage with interesting, timely material. Surf Expo is a great place to initiate a PR campaign, with 100+ trade and consumer media outlets represented at each semi-annual edition. Create a press kit with information about your company and your new products as a tool for editors to use. If you don't know what to include in a press kit, Surf Expo has assembled some tips & tools you can use to get started. Send information to the press. You can target consumer (newspapers, magazines, websites and blogs) or trade (industry journals and websites). In either case, make sure that your information is relevant to the editorial content and readership of each media outlet you contact; and give yourself plenty of lead time (most monthly print publications need information at least two months before each issue).

Best New Product will be given to the manufacturer of a new and unique product that demonstrates innovation and clever application.
